Quality and other technical information related to this item:
1993
The reinterview project found some respondents were losing their S&E status because they did
not report a second major/minor in the reinterview. This may be a burden issue.
Clinical psychologists and social workers were occasionally problematic
because some switched between social work (non-S&E) and clinical psychologist (S&E)
in the reinterview. In prelaw/premed, some respondents reported their major as
political science or biology (both S&E) in the initial interview, but then
reported it as prelaw or premed (non-S&E) in the reinterview. Area/ethnic
studies had the highest percentage of fields recoded from other fields into area/ethnic studies.
General
This item is from the inventory of degree information maintained for each survey respondent.
SESTAT degree information comes from multiple sources. In some cases, it is
obtained directly from the survey questionnaire. In other cases, the degree information is obtained
from administrative information and is supplemented by survey-based data. The degree inventory
includes only awarded degrees - degrees with complete degree level and award date information.

information is displayed by SESTAT, click here.
