2003
Post data collection review of the verbatim responses received for this item showed that some respondents were reporting a legitimate “other academic position”. However, a non-negligible portion were reporting that they held “no academic position”. In order to separate these two distinctly different categories of responses, a new variable E_JOB_EMPLR_ACAD_POSITION_NA was created. Respondents who reported “no academic position” were assigned a “Yes” value for this new variable. Respondents who reported a legitimate “other academic position” were assigned a “No” value for this new variable.
